Vacation???
I'm taking all recommendations/suggestions for vacations spots for this summer. We are open to any and all ideas----small or big trips, near or far locations, hot or cold climate---you get the idea! :) The only requirement is that the cost is in the decent/reasonable range. Are there any websites that you use, which offer great prices, or deals, for flights/hotels/vacation packages? Ready.....GO! :)
Hello Spring!
Since my last post was on December 23, I think it's time to get you up to date on what has been going on with the Phillips'! I have been told by a few people lately that I need to update my blog, so here it goes!
-Trent and I have been busy with life. Baseball has begun and is in full swing in Granbury. Trent is working many hours and spending a lot of time at the field. They have played 3 games in district so far, so this is just the beginning! :)
-Since December we have had the privilege of seeing many friends that we don't normally get to see. Some came to Granbury, and I also had the opportunity to go down to Tomball to see friends and old co-workers.
-Kristen has found her wedding dress!! She looks gorgeous in it, and will be such a beautiful bride in May. There have been many wedding planning conversations in these past few months, and there are more to come. :) This coming weekend is her shower in Hemphill, and I can't wait to see all of the wonderful things she will receive! May 19th is coming so fast!!
-Spring break was this past week and it was WONDERFUL!!! Although we were at 7 baseball games during our break, it was a very relaxing week. Kalyn came for the first weekend, since my birthday was on the 11th. Then one day Trent's parents and brother came to a baseball game and took us out to dinner. We did much needed yard work, and I even planted a garden!! I have to admit that I'm dreading going back to school tomorrow, but I know that I must go back to school in order for summer to get here!
-I planted a few vegetables in two old wooden whiskey barrels (I love them!). However, this is my first attempt at planting and actually growing something that we might be eating! As of now, I am trying to grow tomatoes, okra, squash, onions, lettuce, cucumbers, and bell peppers. If any of you who are reading this blog know any tips for growing these, please leave a comment! I will take any advice or tips. :)
-I made a wreath for our front door. I think it's perfect for spring!! :)
-Last night we had a live draft for a fantasy baseball league that Trent organizes. This is our 3rd year to play in the league. Us two, and 8 others friends play. Here is a glimpse of how serious Trent takes it.....notice the highlighters, glass of tea, and multiple pages of research he has done so the he drafts the perfect team! :) One of the many reasons why I love him! :)
I know this hasn't been a very interesting post, but these are the main events that I can think of for now. Spring is a busy time in the lives of us teachers (and coach). Baseball ends on April 28, TAKS & STAAR testing is the last week of April, and then it's the wrap up of school. I CANNOT WAIT for summer to get here.
